AMPED!: To Write Love On Her Arms 1.0

Blogged by Antwon Davis On 10:15 AM

I’ve been doing some research of different groups of out-of-the-box people who have rallied around a cause or idea. Many of these groups have established businesses, organizations, and even churches. I want to highlight one in particular...

To Write Love On Her Arms

I heard about this group of believers about 2 years ago. Their story and vision is amazing. I didn’t realize that the name of their group is also their cause, which is, “to present hope and find help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide.” And in some cases, it is to literally write love on the arms of those who have suffered from the issue of cutting.

Now this is why this is so important to me... I’m a college student. And that means that I have time on my hands. Time to get engaged, involved, and be apart of what bothers my Father in Heaven. And for some reason, I really want to support this group’s vision.

Also, a few days ago I read Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 and got my face rocked completely off...

“Young people, it’s wonderful to be young! ENJOY every minute of it. Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do. So REFUSE to worry, and keep your body healthy. But remember that youth, with a whole life before you, is meaningless.”

This has become the music of my life right now. There is honestly no greater time to be young and sold out to the cause of Christ. And I have made up my mind that I refuse to sit in the pews of religion living some safe and boring Christian life until I turn 45 (no offense). This isn’t just an opportunity... it’s an obligation!

I just finished reading Seth Godin’s book, Tribes, and on p.134, he says something that literally ignited me!!! He said, “Find leaders (the heretics who are doing things differently and making change), and then amplify their work, give them a platform, and help them find followers - and things get better.”

I am a WALKING AMP. I help put leaders on blast!!! I help amplify their vision; their cause; their tribe. I promote God’s agenda. I am a Social Media Marketing Maverick with a voice, a Moleskine, and Twitter... and by-golly I’m gonna use it!!!

Any volunteers?
